Using Asus U45JC notebook running Windows 7 64-bit with NVIDIA GeForce 310M graphics card. When I connect to a remote HD monitor with a HDMI cable and attempt to maximize the window, the viewing window spreads out beyond the edges of the monitor screen, rendering certain buttons un-viewable such as "File", "Edit" and "Pause" (when viewing video). But when I connect with a cable using the 15-pin D-sub port, the maximized image fits within the monitor screen but the screen goes black when I enlarge the video playback field to full-screen. I can still hear audio when this happens, but there is only a black screen. This happens whether I am trying to view full-screen video on my remote monitor or on the notebook screen. I have spent hours fiddling with screen resolutions and on the phone w/ Asus tech support (they didn't have a clue). Any suggestions?
