I own a Asus U52F-BBL9, and I've been having a bit of a problem which I hope someone with more technical experience can help me with.
Around july or august my screen broke due to the fact that it fell, and ever since I had to replace the screen. I have enough know-how to fix my own computer, but basically, when i bought the new screen, immediately i ran into a problem with the Backlight. It would not light up, or it was dimming at first then dying out. Looking on various sites to diagnose this problem said it was the inverter. So sure enough I went and bought an inverter for my model. Well getting the the thing, the backlight still refused to work, it would flicker on and off for a split second, despite that with any light behind it, I could see the screen vaguely. So I assumed it was defective and tried one other one. Just in case the original inverter was bad. But despite spending the money on two inverters throughout this, I have had no success with getting the backlight to work
3 screens later +2 LVDS cables= No Backlight. And apparently the cables I ordered were compatable with the U52F model. The only thing is that the compatable model and the original model had a different serial. the intial Inverter cable had 1422-00RB000, Whereas the ones I got had 1422-00RB0AS. (I can't find that 1422-00RB000 version of the cable anywhere, and thats the original one that came with the U52F-BBL9 model.
So really my final word is. What is the matter here. Is this the plug on the Motherboard? the LCD Cable again? or the "compatable" Screen brand.
Please help, if this is the appropiate place for help that is. I really don't know what to do at this point.
