This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    I'm looking at getting this nice laptop, but I'm really curious if I would be able to switch the HDD out for a SSD. The U53 models appear to accept 2.5" hard drives, but I can't find any closer comparisons on the ASUS site or any specific info on it's HDD size anywhere. I'm asking because I've seen laptops that take only custom hard drives, and want to know if I'd run into that kind of problem.
