The U5 really replaces the old S5/M5 - but we're not going to see it in the US. It was offered last October/November as the U5a and Asus didn't think it would fit in the US lineup very well and they also said the touchpad was a little weird for their liking.

The U5 will never come to the US....... it's got a regular ratio screen and Asus has been pretty leary of bringing in a "new" regular ratio model. The V6 is the last of the regular ratio's for the most part and if it weren't for it's size and design, we probably wouldn't have that anymore either. Asus has a lot of notebooks to replace the S5/M5... Just in the US we've got the W5 / W7 / S6.... So don't expect to get it last... don't expect it at all.
