Haha, it won't be just me but 5 others as well :p

We were hoping to(well, I was) go to the Devils/Rangers game but it ended too soon :(

Well, the U3s isn't bad neither. I have a thing for leather.

That didn't sound right, or did it? ;)

that is very erogenous (i think it is a word).
dunno what there is to do in nyc. other then museums, bars, clubs and big building i find it very chlostrophobic. not a fan of nyc. more of an outdoors man my self. Its striper season now. i would recommend getting a charter and heading out on the ocean.

True, but without a notebook, my heart feels so empty!

I think selling my V6va was a bad idea but I had no use for it since it got heavy after a while(commuting for 2~ hours standing took a toll on my back). I seriously need something smaller then 13.3". Was tempted by the Dell m1330 for a while...

isnt the dell 13xx made by asus?
i think one fo the 13" dells is made by asus. that would explain why asus is draging their feet with their own 13" refresh. no eta on those in the next few months.

Really? The W7Sg has been released in Europe in many places, but not here in the Netherlands. I always thought it was because they want to get rid of the W7S stock... you think it could be because of weird contractual obligations with Dell?

Great video, as always - I like the barking dog myself :).

Rats and bummer on the absence from NA roadmap, Eddie. How are sales figures on the current U3s system, by the way?

Well, my daughter can wait a few more months to get Daddy's old system - maybe by the Fall (my personal timeframe, anyway) they'll skip straight to Montevina updates for the NA version with a new moniker (U3si or something)..... I can dream :p.

u3 and w7 are not really moving....at all.
    most popular models are
    m50
    f8sn
    g1sn
    g2sg
    u6sg and so on
I dont know if its contractual agreements that are causing them not to renfresh 13.3" but it sure seems like strange that one of their most popular series have no eta and the dell 13.3" is their bread and butter (made by asus from what i hear, have not confirmed it but rumour is true). I dunno who knows.

The 14" Vostro and Inspiron are made by Asus. The fact that the 13" ones are made by Asus is news to me.

What all is different about this compared to the F9sg-a1, I noticed its like a 300$ difference. The specs are nearly identical, except i noticed the f9sg-a1 only came with one battery. Build quality near same and such or what?

No, not even close. U-series has build quality, better construction materials and the U6 ships with the extra 3cell.... The F-series is Asus' budget line, and is priced/built as such (with some models being better than others).

u6s has 2 batteries with it
    u6s has led backlit display
    f9s has a better camera
u6s has room for a sim card and wireless broadband cvard made by sierra
    u6s has leather
u6s has option for extended 9 cell battery
i think that narrows it down

It's worth the extra 300$ then from the sound of it. Is there any benchmarks on the 9300m in it yet?

i think its wonderful that asus integrated the express slot to install a hsdpa modem. its great they included the antena and the slot for the sim card. Anyone think this technology is worth an extra 200$. we are thinking about offering it as an aftermarket option. not sure what the potential is. Thinking about ordering a dozen or so modems but dont feel like getting stuck with them as they are pretty expensive.

I don't know about the US, but don't the ISPs provide a 3.5G modem with their contracts anyway? That way the extra modems would be a waste.

Well they would be internal (on the Express slot)... so that would be an advantage. But not one worth 200USD in my opinion :)

but that how much 3.5g modems go for. its not like i pulled the price out of thin air. I imagine even for the mobile pro wifi data cards are no longer huge with hot spots emerging almost anywhere there would be little insentive and few people who are seeking this technology now a days. i guess asus made the right choice technically. 200$ is alot of moeny for technology that most of their customers will not use or even consider

yeah, I know those are the prices, I just made a subscription for HSDPA internet and the modem was 124EUR -- it was included in the subscription though, so I didn't pay for it.

My point is: if one makes a 3.5 subscription and the USB modem is included in the price, there is little point in paying another 200 USD just to have another one that is internal.

If on the other hand one already has the SIM card / subscription and doesn't have the modem, it may be a good idea to buy one that is internal, instead of a USB one.

this probably isn't the right place to post it. But i'm currently in the progress ofchosing between the u6s and the f9s. Is the u6s really worth the extra money compared to the f9s? The difference is 480 euro's ~ 700 USD.....

And how is the built quality compared to an old asus m5n (which afther 4 years still works great)

I am not that old but i use now an S5N. s5n is exact replica of m5n without the optical drive and a few mm thinner. same era though. I got rid of my m5n a few months ago to a friend as a hand me down. the quality of the u6s is up there. If you like the m5/s5 you will like the u6. the only exception is battery life. m5 gets a bit better battery life but they all did way back then./

hmm I see this notebook got around 1600 on 3dmark06. I realize that this is by no means a gaming notebook but would this laptop be able to play say Rainbow Six vegas on low settings?
