    Asus U80A - backlit keyboard?

    Hey guys,

    Been seeing a lot of the UL30 guys do the backlit keyboard mod.

    I just picked up a U80A, and I was wondering if I could do the same?

    I found some keyboards on ebay that state its a backlit keyboard for the U80 model, so does it mean it is a direct replacement for my laptop, or will I have to solder also?

    If the same model also comes with backlit keyboard then it could be that the backlit keyboard function is already actived, but it cannot be said for sure.
    As far as I heard from the G73 user, ASUS has a special tool to activate this feature. So maybe you have to try it by ordering a backlit keyboard.
    If it does not work then you may mode it yourself if you want. :rolleyes:

    On the N71JQ, we also have this backlit connector but it is inactive. I built myself a custom backlit mode. You can have a look at it in my signature.
