    Hi
i just wanted to know what type of ram this laptop takes? and if upgrading to 4gb would reduce my battery life? if so by how much i currently have the 2gb that it came with.

Also i currently have 4400 6 cell battery, is there any battery thats bigger than this and if so how long does that last my current battery it says lasts 6 hrs but with wifi enabled it lasts around 4.5 hrs on power4gear battery saver.

i also just performed the Windows experience index my score were as follow:
    processor 5.4
    ram 5.5
    graphics 2.9
    3d gaming 3.2
    harddisk 5.6
    are these normal?
    windows home premium 64

can anyone please give me a rough estimate on the battery. how long should it last with wifi and without on average under power4gear entertainment and battery saver and if any tips on how i can make it last longer.

    thank you

    Welcome to the forum!

RAM = DDR3 1066. 4GB will not impact battery life in any way that you can tell, AKA no reduction in time.

Review of the UL20 done here by the NBR staff found battery life of 4h30m, so you're right in line with that. There likely isn't a 9cell battery for this model - Asus has pretty much moved away from those things over the past 2 years, focusing instead on software improvements and power management for the 6 cells. to further improve you have to do the standard things - reduce LCD brightness, turn off Bluetooth and/or wifi ... depending on what you're doing then, you could squeeze out another 30-45 minutes perhaps if the LCD was dimmer (but some people then may find it unusable).

    Thanks for your reply.

Is there a preferred brand for the ram. Or are all of them about the same.

Any will work. Stay with larger manufacturers for better consistent quality.
