    I received the unit today.
The first thing I noticed was a loud HDD noise. (Much louder than my 3-year-old laptop that I was using previously)
What is more, when the HDD is idle, I continuosly hear a sound of something moving, which is similar to the sound that a CD-ROM drive makes when its lens is moving. (Sorry for the awkard description. I don't know how to explain it in any other way.)
The installed HDD is a Seagate.
I suspect a faulty HDD unit and will request a RMA.
I wonder if anyone else experienced similar problems.

I had exactly the same problem. I "solved" it by upgrading to a SSD.
The old hdd [500gb seagate] now is an external drive.
