    Hey guys,

I have an Asus ul30vt with a broken lcd cover (the grey aluminum cover). the aluminum cover is no longer clipped to the hinge and is causing it to go against the lcd cable.

It is out of warranty and located in Canada. I could not find it on the Asus estore website and dont know of any resellers in canada that can order the parts.

I do not want to send it in to get fixed. Asus refused to sell me the parts and gave me a $200 quote on the phone. I just need to order the parts for it. Below are pics of what is damaged.

I just need the part numbers, or better yet, where to get them from. (even if they only ship to the US)

    thanks for the help!

If Asus won't sell you the parts outright, then the only thing I can recommend is to consort with an etailer - eBay may be your best bet. The part alone might be hard to acquire though, so you may need to consider purchasing the chassis just for the replacement. I had to order an entire backing for a G series HP just because a screw housing for the screen hinge broke. :(

i searched for anything of the sort on ebay, did not find anything. This is ridiculous. Asus should sell parts to whoever needs them. it is incredibly inefficient for me to pay for shipping and absurd installation fees when i can do it myself.

You can try contacting any number of Asus resellers, although many may be outside of Canada - so you'll be looking at shipping charges if the reseller has any on hand (or if they're able to special order the part(s)).

The place I would look for parts is Asusparts, of course it's in Europe but they might ship outside Europe.
