A month or so ago my battery symbol on was flashing a red X saying "consider replacing your battery". So I took out the battery and held down the power button. Put the battery back in and it worked just fine. Recently it has started to do it again. Would this be just a faulty battery or could it be a hardware issue? I would like to avoid sending the whole laptop in for repair since it is my only means for doing school work.
Has anyone else had this issue, how did you resolve it? Or are there things I can do to find out if it is hardware or just the battery. I know Asus would just say send the whole laptop in for repair. Any help/advice would be appreciated!

ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
Chances are better that it's either a bad cell (this happens) or electronics in the battery itself, rather than a motherboard or BIOS issue, and often gives symptoms as you describe. If it's doing it again now, this is unlikely to go away....
Battery warranty is 12 months from date of purchase. Call Asus tech support and see what they recommend, if you're still covered - they may just have you ship in the battery for replacement. -
Yes I have only had it for a couple of months. Ill have to wait till I get home to call or find the chat session thing now. Cell phone died and I am at school. Thanks for the advice.
