    Is it possible to replace my Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor SU9400/SU7300 : 1.4 GHz - 1.3 GHz with a modern CPU?

    And I also want to clean it up inside but I don't know how to remove a palm rest (please see the photo below).

    Modern = no. Different generations of processors use different sockets. This CPU comes in either 478 FCPGA or 479 BGA. If yours is the former, then you could upgrade to a CPU that fits a likewise socket, as long as the system board/BIOS supports it. If it's BGA, then you're stuck with what you have.
