I just ugraded to the Windows 10 official release, which went flawlessly except for the folowing driver issues - right after the upgrade, there were 4 devices in device manager that appeared under the dreaded "yellow triangle": 3 "unknown devices", and 1 on the Nvidia GT 730M video card

    - One of the unknown devices had to do with the touchpad, and the problem was fixed after installing the ATK Win10 driver provided on the Asus support site.

    - The video card has the mention "Windows stopped this device because it was malfunctioning". No amount of driver uninstall / reinstall, removing the device in normal or safe modes etc could fix this - I still have the yellow triangle and no acces to the Nvidia card, I'm using the integrated Intel one.

    - The 2nd unknown device proved to be, after much tinkering, uninstall/reinstall etc to be the integrated webcam, under the heading "HD webcam". I can't get it to work whatever I do, and found no drivers for it. The driver isn't installed ("Windows couldn't find a driver for this device"), and Asus doesn't provide one as apparently a native Windows driver is used. Could anyone help me with this, or point me to a place where a driver or a solution could be found?

    - The last unknown device remains unknown... I didn't find what didn't work yet.

Thanks, I hope fixes are found as I can't imagine that I'm the only one having these problems.

    Erpol

If you are having trouble with locating Win10 drivers, try using the Win8.1 drivers that are missing which should work until the updated drivers are released

I tried to do just that! Unfortunately I can't find the correct inf file for the webcam driver.
I know the brand is Chicony / suncom, but I can't find any inf related to that.. (or to usb cam, or webcam, etc)

If I point windows to the system32\drivers directory (or its subdirs), it just tells me that no correct driver was found.

    Any help there ?

    Thx

Thanks for the tip, that would be great but as you can see for yourself if you check, there is no Windows-10 specific chipset driver on the download page you mention - only an ATK driver (that I installed), and old Bios files. The only chipset driver found is for Win 8.1, and this one I already installed long ago.

    Any other ideas ?

Did you ever figure out what the remaining "unknown device" was/is? (If not, you might be able to pull it up by copying the Device ID and pasting it into a Google search.)

The webcam driver should be native. Does running the Windows updates find it (this will only work if you haven't disabled automatic driver updates + installs from the Windows updates)?

I'v a UX302LG and I think my issue is related. However my webcam is recognized as PC CAMERA but it's not showing anything on skype, camera app, hangout etc, just a black screen. Also the light of the camera is blinking. I tried on windows and ubuntu the result is the same. Ubuntu and windows are giving me this id for the webcam 1bcf:0b09 Sunplus Innovation Technology Inc. The product id is wrong according to this doc https://help.ubuntu.com/community/AsusZenbookUX302#Microphone, and I don't really know how to fix this issue. Anyone having the same problem ?

    Hi erpol,

I managed all problems of yours, besides the one belonging to the Nvidia GT 730M video card - yello triangle - error 43 (stopped with errors).

I tried in different ways to uninstall the actual NVIDIA driver and to intstal different older ones, but without success.
That is frustrating to me, because I used the NVIDIA for Photoshop and Premiere...

Do you found any solution over the time beeing?
    Thanks in advance, Thomas

    Hi Romtomtom,

Have you ever try to turn off your laptop, remove the battery, leave it for some minutes, then turn it back on.
If it to hard to pull out the battery (integrated battery problem) just leave your laptop on till it "really-really-really" no power on it (you cant turn it on without AC plugged), leave it some minutes..then turn it back on.
NB : Sorry for the English.

    Hi Romtomtom,

I checked out the laptop's device manager this morning (last check had been about 2 weeks ago), and guess what - all of my 3 driver problems: Nvidia GT730, webcam and "unknown device" are fixed now - everything works perfectly!
Checking the drivers, the Nvidia is dated 07/13/2015, version 10.18.13.5354. The webcam is even worse, dated 06/21/2006! So it's not new drivers that did it. As I didn't install anything or get any update from Asus, the only logical explanation is that an automatic Windows update fixed all these issues. The last Windows update not involving security is dated 12/22/2015, so I guess that's the one...
    Sorry I can't help more.

    RP

It can be drivers being added to the microsoft database, while the software may not be new, being indexed for downloading can be.
