Hi guys,
I'm planning on going to the US here in a couple of days and I've been considering buying
Asus - Zenbook Ultrabook Laptop / Intel® Core i5 Processor / 13.3" Display / 4GB Memory / 128GB Solid State Drive - Radiant Silver - UX31-RSL8
But I'm not sure about the power supply. Does it include a power adapter for european (round) plugs, or should I order one seperately from somewhere? In which case, where can it be ordered?
Any help will be appreciated![]()

Hi
I have a UX31 from Malaysia with the big fat British style plug. I just bought a multi adapter from an airport while I was travelling. The one I got has multiple adapters you slide out and can plug in anywhere. It was approx $30 -
That sounds way too much. You can buy something cheap from ebay for a few bucks only.

If the adapter is like most notebook adapters ( i haven't seen a zenbook adapter in person or on photos yet), then you could simply buy the wire that runs from the outlet to the power brick. They usually are somewhere between 5$ and 10$, it is a much more elegant solution than getting a converter.

ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
Asus power supplies are globally universal, the only difference is the plug that inserts into the wall. If you buy in Europe, then it should come with the correct one for Europe. For the U.S., then you *only* need a Europe-US plug adapter that goes between the European plug and the US wall socket. You could spend the money on a voltage converter, but that isn't necessary, and you don't to look for a new wire that plugs into the power supply (as suggested by tijo), unless you want to take that approach. Just get a plug adapter.
This has been discussed here in the past. I have direct knowledge of using an adapter for my US supply when I was overseas in Asia a couple of years ago, which worked just fine, and others have come to the US from abroad and taken the opposite approach I've outlined above.
Asus UX31 powersupply for Europe?
