I'm having the following two problems with my new UX31A:

    1) When I close the lid, the laptop does not go to sleep. The screen blacks, but the device doesn't sleep. I have verified that the power management options are configured correctly.

I can manually initiate sleep from the start menu successfully, but closing the lid doesn't work. However, after the notebook is in sleep, when I open the lid, it resumes properly (automatically without me pressing the power button).

    2) My FN hotkeys are having two issues. When I first boot up, the keys work (e.g. volume, mute etc.) but are somewhat unresponsive and often somewhat laggy. After I sleep at least once, the keys no longer function at all until I do a full reboot. I have attempted reinstalling the ATK package to no avail. I have also done a factory restore and I still have the same problems (also with the sleep).

Does anyone have any insight or additional ideas? Thanks!

I believe I have a similiar problem. When I close the lid, the screen turns off, but the laptop does not actually go to sleep. It becomes completely unresponsive, and a force shutdown is required. The power button light is also indefinitely lit.

This same behavior is also exhibited when I activate sleep manually from the start menu. I have done multiple restores from ASUS and from a generic Windows 7 disc, but to no avail.
