The Windows 7 edition of the UX31A comes with a 10 GB recovery partition so I was wondering if it's possible to restore the system using this partition by going into F2 at startup and resetting or does this option not work? I haven't deleted any of the 4 partitions the laptop came with BUT I did temporarily create a 4 GB partition by splitting the main partition a while back though that temporary partition has since been deleted and I'm wondering if this could cause problems with the restore.

The other method I know is this Fresh Install one using a Windows 7 Factory Image from this thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/asus-ux31a-fresh-install-guide.680250/

Which option should I try for first? I'd rather use the original factory reset method so that I don't have to worry about installing new drivers but wanted to know which one to use in case the first method screws up, I can use the other.
