    Asus UX31E and using with the lid closed

    Hi,

    What do people think about using the UX31e with the lid closed.

    My concern is that this would block the air vents.

    I think you're right, doesn't look like much airflow would be possible through the closed hinge.

    However, if you installed temperature monitoring software, and watched it via external monitor, it wouldn't be hard to check.

    i will try it, check temps and report back

    mine never gets above 60c so guess it will be ok

    Under 70% load with the lid CLOSED it reached

    86c for processor
    68c for the ssd (creating a rar file at maximum)

    Under 70% load with the lid OPEN it reached

    84c for processor
    67c for the ssd (creating a rar file at maximum)

    Under 100% load with the lid CLOSED it reached

    89c for processor
    68c for the ssd (creating a rar file at maximum)

    Under 70% load with the lid OPEN it reached

    88c for processor
    67c for the ssd (creating a rar file at maximum)
