I have owned my Zenbook UX32 VD for a week now and have a really crazy issue. I am a pretty swift typist and often am emailing or in word docs. I have found an ultra annoying problem with my keyboard as I will be typing away when all of a sudden the curser jumps to another line, the beginning of a line, or the end of the line...!! It is really souring me on this laptop! I put in the added memory and an SSD and it is very fast...but jeeze, I just want to be able to type without the distraction of all the jumping around!!

Is there a fix? What causes this?

I don't know and I am a very slow typer. I have strange things happen also but not in office because I don't use it much. Do you think maybe we are touching the "track pad"? We can disable it correct? Give that a shot. My problems are less than yours so I am currently just dealing with it. Good luck.

Well, I was thinking that could have something to do with the issue. Even when I deliberately stay away and above the "track pad", the jumpiness seems to remain an issue...however, I will look into disabling the pad and see if that works.

    fn+f9 disables "touch pad"

A lot of people have issues when typing due to the trackpad. Try disabling it per ASUS-UX32VD's suggestion (grazing it inadvertently is pretty common, even when you're trying to be conscious of it). If you still have the problem, see if you're missing the latest ATK package from Asus, and/or uninstall the keyboard driver and allow Windows to reinstall the default driver.

Do the same fn+f9. If on it disables, if off it enables.

There is also a setting in I think you "smart gesture" "control panel" that lets the "track pad" disable when a mouse is attached.

Did disabling work for typing and the jump.

Actually no. I could not disable the trackpad. The Fn + F9 suggestion did not work! Frustrated.....

Alternatively, you can disable the trackpad through Device Manager. Look for it under "Mice and other pointing devices" - it will be listed as a PS/2 device if I remember correctly. Right click on it and select "disable" (you can also click on Properties and then the driver tab, and then the disable button - same thing but longer process).

    Hope that helps!
