    Hi everyone,
I recently upgrade my HDD to Samsung 840 SSD and upgrade ram. I have try to clone the HHD -> SSD, keep give me error.
So I freshly install windows 8 from USB, work perfectly. While I install windows 8 I can see the iSSD, but I didn't touch/format or delete or anything.. So I just install windows onto my SSD

Then I came across people saying iSSD suppose to be cached drive. I see my iSSD on Disk mgment. I install intel Rapid Storage technology. and I can see it there.

My question, How do I know if the iSSD is working?

    Thanks

It needs to be configured in the "Accelerate" options:

    IntelSRT_SRTsetup1a1.jpg

If it shows up in that menu, you should be fine.

But I must ask that less than good 20GB SSD has bad/low/crap write speeds and lower read speeds than even my 830 how do any of us think we get any advantage using for cache.

I really mean. I am not trying to be funny. How does slower speed cache offer anything?

The 'Caching" part is really only designed to use the iSSD with a traditional spinning HD. If you have replaced it with an SSD there is no point. You can use the iSSD as a regular extra hard drive. You could also use it as the Intel Rapid Start drive.

However, in the traditional UX32VD setup the caching software is actually called express cache. The Intel rapid storage does not work due to a chipset limitation. Express cache is installed and configured separately. In your setup there is no benefit. However do make sure that the Intel "Rapid Start" is set up as that will result in longer sleep times.
