    Hello,

I got my ux32vd yesterday and I really love it. There is some backlight bleeding but it is barley visible. But I have a "major" problem, I'll get strange sounds sometimes and it is really annoying. It comes from the top left corner and it sounds like a windows button click sound. And it is really loud. First I thought it would be the hdd but the hdd i located in the bottom right corner, so it must be the fan.

It only happens sometimes like 2min - 30min but it is really annoying if you are coding in a silent room. Did you ever encountered something similar? (Note I muted my sound)

Does anyone know if I am allowed to remove the bottom plate or does this void the warranty?
    Maybe it is booty trapped?

Generally any warranty sticker should be clearly visible prior to removal. I happened to disassemble a UX31 and the warranty sticker was located under the top cover, when trying to remove the mobo.
Yes, it does sound like there may be something out of sorts with the fan, but for some reason I'm having doubts you'll actually be able to do anything about it without breaking the warranty.
If it really bothers you, try to talk to a friendly asus support rep, and see if he can replace your machine.

Without hearing the sound, it's hard to determine, but generally the only components that produce noise are hard drives (platter) and fans - so it very well could be a fan. It's possible it's the case itself; perhaps from heat.

You will most likely void the warranty by exposing the motherboard, so my recommendation is to have it sent in for RMA while it's still covered.
