Hi, I just bought a UX461UN laptop, and overall I am pretty happy with it, except as soon as I start playing a video online it totally overheats underneath after just a few minutes, and I can't keep it on my knees!
The battery also went down in 3h the first days when I was doing all the setup and testing. And I didn't test videos all the time.
Is anyone else having this experience with this model? Is this part of the design or should I send my profuct back? I already called Asid today twice, reset the BIOS to default settings, and upgraded to to the latest version, it didn't change a thing!
I ran a comparison test with my old HP laptop that only has half the RAM (8GB same i7) and only the Intel 620 graphic card instead of the Nvidia MX150 card, I ran the same UHD video of the Web, and internal temp went up to only 52 deg C instead of 61-65 deg C on the Asus, plus didn't toast my knees...
Would love to hear from folks who own this product.

My zenbook never sets the fan to maximum rate no matter what I do.
high Heat/CPU usage during video playback indicates hardware video decoding is not working at all. Is it Chrome? "Hardware acceleration" enabled?
NoteBook FanControl could help to force fan speed and may resolve heat issue. It's a general utility and doesn't actually know the parameters for controlling ASUS laptops, but you could try/guess in the program. Works for my UX490.
