After discusssing in length in other threads about my superb experience with Asus laptops and the fantastic Asus W3J (such as Asus W3J- Revealing the Secret of its Fabulous Performance and Asus After-Sales Service), now its high time we talked a little bit about Asus V.I.P. Membership- Asus Advantage Programme.
Forgive my ignorance, but I have been reading the relevant forums here for the last six months and I never came up across any information about the Asus Advantage Programme and its endless advantages.
So, I thought that since I have the extraordinary privilege to be a current V.I.P. Asus member, I should enlighten everybody on this issue and clearly state: 1) how to become one 2)how many privileges and advantages one has if he/she decides to invest more money on Asus and become one.
O.K. let's start with the basics:
1) What one needs before becoming one
A few extra dollars or Euros suffice to purchase the fabulous Asus Advantage Programme (around 160 Euros/200 dollars more or less, another poster could be kind enough to provide you with exact current figures)
2) Why to purchase the prestigious Asus Advantage Programme and become an Asus V.I.P. member.
There are actually too many subjective good reasons for this. a)For example one could be too wealthy and hence unaware of how can he/she spend some of his/her unused capital. b) Secondly, it's good for C.V. and social purposes. When You become one and you can put in bold "Asus V.I.P. member" in CV's, professional cards etc. c) Alternatively, when you go out with a nice girl or guy, you throw the mystic line at the right moment to impress your date: "Oh, I forgot to tell you, today I was proclaimed an Asus V.I.P. member" --> This line will most certainly do its magic (unless your potential partner has read this thread as well) d) For the above reasons but many other unmentioned as well, it's a far better investment than buying beers and cigarettes and overall provides more personal satisfaction-confindence feelings than the purchase of any averagely rated videogame e) Many other personal reasons --- I dearly invite all the other posters to give their own possible reasons.
3) Going slowly to the hard core: What ARE THE ADVANTAGES of being an Asus V.I.P. Member?
3a)You automatically obtain a penpal in Taiwan
(Do you actually remember those miserable days you were desperately searching for a penpal somewhere around the world but you were not able to find one despite all efforts?!?) His name might be Deco, Spyro or something else and he/she would gladly accept and answer comments such as "I admire Asus for its achievements", "How can I invest more money in Asus", " I am a happy customer because Asus cares for all its customers" -- I do not know if after that they will send you some flowers in your birthday but in any case you should not be surprised!
3b)Your penpal will care for your security If you send too many letters with explicitly different content such as "my Asus W3J laptop has not been serviced after a Whole month of residence at your prestigious service center in Italy" or "my Asus W3J laptop constantly crashes/ reboots" "W3J does not make any noise but produce excessive heat good for winter days in Alaska", then for purely security reasons your penpal in Taiwan might justifiably believe that is not you the one who's actually writing all these nasty things and will change your password in order to protect YOU from any possible theft of data and sensitive information. Hence, you will not be able to access the V.I.P. member area any more for quite some time, unless you find a way around it (I personally have found a way around this protective measure but will not give this hint for free!)
3c)Extension of warranty You immediately obtain a three-year guarantee for your laptop. This is so important that some people cannot really evaluate properly. Imagine the following scenario: Your laptop gets very old after five months of its purchase and consequently brokes down. You send it for service and since you are a V.I.P. member already you get it very fast back, i.e., after thirty/forty/firty days. Nonetheless, when you get it back you notice a small issue: apart from minor scratches emerging suddenly out of your laptop's surface (don't worry it's something natural like the wrinkles), you find out that the laptop might not have been serviced properly, so you send it back again to the certified service center. Let's now suppose that this second time, everything is fixed apart from the wrinkles so you receive it back after thirty/forty/sixty days (the days of return have to do with how many letters and telephones you make. My experience shows that the rule of thumb is: twenty contacts=thirty days, fifteen contacts=forty days, ten contacts=fifty days, less than ten contacts sixty days).
You see you might have lost two to four months but it doesn't matter for you. You are a V.I.P. member and you have paid them (i.e. Asus) for being late. Your years of guarantee will remain two irrespective of any such minor delays because you have paid beforehand for a whole YEAR of delays. That exactly means making smart choices in life!
3d) You can download more easily drivers for your laptop which can be very useful UNLESS you experience a HardWare problem
3e) If you now experience a HARDWARE problem you will get plenty of psychological support. The soothing words that you'll read from your penpal will make you stronger. This is very important although some people are unable to recognise it. Words such as " I beg you pardon Sir, just wait another month", "We have already contact the correlative dept. ---this usually means the famous Italian department if you live in Europe--- and they are working on your case", "we cannot do anything at the moment but will try to assist you in the future in any other way" sooth heart and offer invaluable peace of mind.
(...There are more but I am stopping the first preliminary presentantion here -- Please do not hesitate to ask me any clarifications - Hurry to become an Asus V.I.P. member, Offer Ends Really Soon)

HAHAHAHA- I gotta say that i've seen a lot of your asus service threads over the last few days and this one is by far the best.
-
your experience with asus have sucked. I feel sorry for you, ur turning bitter
-
VictorTsilonis, have you ranted enough yet?
We understand your disappointment for Asus and their customer service. You don't need to flood the forums with posts and threads about the same matter.
So many people are satisfied with their W3J, and you don't see them posting threads about how much they love their notebook. Because its annoying and stupid.
Now, as a friendly request, could you please stop posting threads of a matter you could put all into one thread, and understand that your problems with Asus and their customer support rarely ever happen, and discouraging others not to buy the W3J is unfair to both the people interested and to Asus? -

Dear smartsam11,
I would like to thank you for your comments.
You have to admit that this is different thread though, since it does not concern Asus w3J but the whole ASUS V.I.P. membership programme to which one can become a member if he/she purchases ANY model (VX1, W3J, W7J etc.).
Moreover, I clearly underline the fact that I think nobody has talked about this V.I.P. membership scheme before, although it is a fabulous idea.
So, what about talking about that ONLY? -
I'm not quite familiar of such programs, is there any links you could provide to further knowledge us?

Enjoy!

OP, Its time to STFU
and keep it to one thread please!

NO WAY! Keep posting. Every thread is getting better and better! At least he's creative!

The more I read Victors posts, it seems to me he has a hard time understanding English. Someone would probably get the message across if he spoke in the native language..
Something tells me there is more to this .. -

One More Clarification: It's good that some of you also found out, namely that there is actually nothing about this programme on the Web explaining what it really is!
That is exactly the reason why I began this thread after all!
Asus Advantage Programme (AAP in short, but I did not use that abbreviation because some might confuse it and think it meant "Asta la Vista People") is linked to the extra Insurance package one can get along with OR shortly after the ingenious purchase of an Asus model.
This insurance package, THEORETICALLY speaking, will provide you with an overall three year guarantee of free service and as I have already hinted before this is very useful for any Asus delays occuring when you actually send your Asus laptop for guarantee (you see, if you have a two year guarantee plan and send your laptop twice for repair during that period then you might end up having an actual 20-month guarantee since four months will have been wasted for sending it and receiving it back SERVICED OR NOT SERVICED.....
.....Oh and something else very very very important......
This insurance scheme will make you an Asus V.I.P. Member and hence you will be able to have all the aforementioned privileges....and many more still UNMENTIONED! Enjoy!
Last but certainly not least, now you might be able to realise why we all neeeded another thread. I feel advertising and advocating for the Asus Advantage programme is my sacred duty, since I would hate to see being myself the only one having all these generous privileges from Asus, while all the poor guys (Asus customers as well) are lurking in the shadows!
(P.S. It's true my English is not that good but I am constantly trying to improve!)
(P.S. After reading so many comments, one can easily understand who is objective and who is not, how many resellers justifiably participate in these kind of forums etc.!) -
Victor, you have to accept the fact that North American customers are "semi-gods" to the selling companies and most of them (the ones that are serious in business) will do anything to keep them happy and willing to buy their products on and on. We don't have that attitude here in Europe. Sure, there are companies that will do anything to keep customer satisfied but they are rare.
On one hand, that's perfectly logical because NA is a big market and it's more imortant than rest of the world together (for sellers, of course). On the other hand, it's a sad fact that companies are "segregating" markets when warranty is to be fulfilled in a right way. It's not just your case, I see that oftenly, especially in the countries that are not part of the "western Europe". It's even more harder to deal with companies if they don't have office in your own country.
Therefore Victor, you're bangin' on the wrong doors. Sure, it's good to inform people about fishy dealings from various sides, but you'll gain little or nothing here. This forum members are NA guys in majority (including sellers) and they can do little to change Asus approach in Europe... -

Thanks Matta for your comments,
I have been posting in various forums so far and if you have any suggestions for advertising Asus elsewhere as well, please tell me!
Nonetheless, I would disagree with some parts of your argument since most of the big brands have essentially one or two service centers in Europe for the laptops' service. To name but one example, you might think you hand it in Athens but they actually send it to Switzerland for repair!
In any case I know that many people from Europe visit this forum as well, although they don't participate (many friends do that) so it's good for everybody to know! -

1. If youa re overseas you can bundle asus into the same service and support as dell overseas sony and toshiba. Not that i have any experience but unless you are in the usa or the native origin of the manufacturer or vendor dont expect a pleasant and fast exprience
2. The asus advantage site is ONLY for dealers. I have no idea who you paid and what you paid for.
3. Dude give it a rest. You have ashamed asus overseas. The point still remains that most of their business is in the states and in taiwan. Their service and support in their biggest market is where it should be. The only thing they lack are upgrade service plans that gurantee next day service and round trip shipping (and many others) which a few of their dealers in the states provide them selves. -

>>>Well guess what? You are wrong and we can have a bet on this if you dare!!!
I don't want to sound aroggant Geared2Play but if you publicly acknowledge that you are totally unaware about Asus advantage programme for high-end users then this fact alone justifies the existence of this thread.
Also, if you don't know about this detail I don't know how many things you think you know are true or detailed enough!
P.S. Anyway you did not tell me -because I can admit that I do not know a lot of things as well- How Does One Get Into ASUS PAYROLL SYSTEM!?! Then I will be able to send posts like yours and become real friends! -

Oh boy, I am really worried about you, it seems you make too many mistakes lately why? -
If by "real friends" you mean bombarding them with messages cloaked in a smile hiding a dagger of close mindedness then I hope you take your buesiness elsewhere!!!
Thank you very much for informing us if your misadventures with Asus and their Western Europe customer service!!! I'll be sure never to move there! -
