Asus V1Jp

Hello,

I have been looking for a new notebook, and I found this Asus one which seems to be exactly what I am looking for. These are the specs I have:

ASUS V1Jp-AJ003P Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 (2.00GHz), Windows XP Pro, 2048MB(1024x2) DDRII 667 RAM, 160GB HDD(5400rpm) SATA, DVDRW DL, ATI X1700 256MB(512MB HM), 15.4"TFT (WSXGA+, Colour Shine), Camera (1.3MP) Gbit LAN

I am in the UK so I am guessing its a UK model. No one has it in stock yet and couldn't find any more info.

Anyway, my question is does any one know if the the V1Jp basically the same as the V1J? I.e. does it have same chassis, same basic features (fingerprint reader...).

If so, does anyone have any hi-res photos of either?

Exactly the same. There's only a difference between specs, not chassis...

 

The few shops that have it listed keep pushing back the shipment date. It was 2006-10-17 and then 2006-10-24 and now 2006-11-7.

I also found one website that claims to have 3 in stock.

Well I am pretty much sold on this laptop, but I'll wait until some other websites get stock before I order.

 

You were right, the date has been pushed back again on all sites from Today/Monday to the 17th/20th
