    Asus V1S Vista Product Key Sticker -

    I know this is usual for most laptops that the product key sticker is on the bottom of the machine but my ASUS V1S did not have a sticker? Is this normal? I thought the product key was embedded on the OEM Recovery DVD that shipped with the machine as other posts seem to suggest. Can anyone else confirm this?

    My V1s has a product sticker on the bottom for Vista Biz. Where did you get your lappy from?

    I bought it from a computer journalist brand new, with box, DVD's etc etc. Never been used and Vista Ultimate was fully registered and genuine when I first used it. Once I did a bios upgrade it said vista was no longer valid so I RMA'ed it back to ASUS.

    What model is it? The US model only ships with Business, not ultimate.

    It says ultimate on the blue sticker with all the specs next to the touchpad, and the recovery DVD installs ultimate without any prompting. The keyboard is not UK though because there is no £ symbol, but the rest of the keyboard is standard english with no strange symbols.

    Interesting. My ASUS sticker to the left of teh touchpad (the specs one) lists "Vista BIZ.", and I have an MS sticker on the bottom of the notebook with Vista BIZ codes.

    no sticker on the bottom of mine, not even a mark where it could possibly have been, maybe they missed it off. It's funny because they are not the type of sticker that peel away easily. Have to see what ASUS say, I mean they've got the official DVD and the blue sticker with the barcode on says vista ultimate.

    The only two available versions in the USA V1s-A1 and V1s-A2 ship with Business, Many other countries got ultimate but lost CPU speed (IE Australia) So ill ask the same question again, What country did you buy it in, and what is the model number. Mine is Vista business V1s-A1 and has the sticker.

    Although no sticker is strange to me. You RMA'ed? Maybe they'll fix that.
