    Asus V1S-A1 and V1S-B1 differences?

    Does anybody know what the differences are between these two models and how to tell what model I have?

    Turn notebook around, identify the model number, it will be something like:

    V1XSXB1
    or
    V1XSXA1
    where X-es can be void or have numeric values.

    V1S-A1, Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7500 (2.20GHz)
    V1S-B1, Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7700 (2.40GHz)

    Everything else is the same, except maybe the price.

    The B1 has T7700 (2.4GHz) processor while A1 has T7500 (2.2GHz).

    Edit: oops Ex seems to have beaten me.

    BIOS should be the same (or at least updatable to the same version)

    Do you think it is possible to stick in a 2.4Ghz processor into an V1S-A1 machine then?

    Yep. But I don't see why you would want to do that. The real-life performance increase would be minimal. Plus you'd void your warranty by breaking the heatsink seal.
