Hi all,
Short version: In a V1Sn has anyone had trouble with Vista or Windows 7 64 bit and 4GB of RAM?
Long version: I've had my V1Sn for over a year and been very happy with it. Recently did my first clean install and went to the Windows 7 RC1 64bit. Solid performance all around but since I've been doing a lot of heavy photo work thought going to 4GB of RAM would be a good idea. Almost immediately the performance was chunky and inconsistent when under load. (Firefox and lightroom open or games loading slowly.)
I suspected a bad stick (or two) of memory but MemTest86 soaked for 24 hours with no issues.
With 1 of the 2GB sticks (either one) and 1 of the original 1GB sticks in it's stable and quick. As soon as I put both 2GB it gets sketchy.
Any ideas?
EDIT: Also, new RAM in question is 2x2GB Hynix DDR2-667 CL5.

Try updating your BIOS to a newer version if available from the Asus website if you haven't already.

Already up to latest (301 I believe) unfortunately. Thanks though!

I'm kinda having a similar problem with my V1s (albeit, it has 2GB of RAM.) It seems to load things slower than my Samsung N120, which is troubling.
I'm thinking it may be HDD related. According to SMART, I have lots of pending sectors and uncorrectable sectors.
