The earlier posts are old. If the model isn't available in the UK now, it probably won't ever be. Instead, slight variations will be available.

I've noticed a T7700 one is available in the states, but no sign of any in the UK at the moment. Not sure how much difference that would make to performance, so not sure if it would be worth waiting for.

I've also noticed that several UK sites have the V1S AK015E (with T7500) down as 2ghz. I assume this is just a typo?

A .2GHz diff in the CPU will make nearly zero real-life impact. If that is the only thing stopping you from buying the notebook, then ignore it and buy the notebook.

Well, that and the fact that it seems to come with a 4200 rpm drive, but it looks like it's relatively easy to get that swapped out for something a little nippier.

Definitely easy. But a V1S with 4200 RPM sounds very strange. Maybe it's a typo.

Every single UK shop that has one has it down as 4200. Seems a little strange to me as well, but they all seem pretty consistent.

Weird. If you really want it just get it and upgrade the HDD. You can buy a modular bay and use the old one switchable with the ODD.

Be aware of the battery issues with this computer before you buy, though!! Read through the V1S battery threads.
