I have to take a moment to post here. I bought my current computer from Proprotable.com and it is the V6J...this computer rocks and I have used desk tops and notebooks for years (I get a new one yearly at least)! This notebook is NOT an ultra portable...no but it is very portable so that is not a problem! It is also the BEST build that I have ever had and I have owned the top 5 (I will not mention the names to avoid the debate about the top 5 BUT you KNOW who they are)! I am blown away...if you want to ask questions please feel free to ask via PM here...I can also tell you.
I know that making this sort of comitment is very important ($$$) so I will not BS you...I just love this machine! It has never crashed...runs cool...runs the software I want...but most of all it looks so COOL (and really is...unlike the lame SONY machines)!!

Glad you like it, but reasonable people can come to different conclusions.

I am sure they can...and yes...reasonable people might have something to say unlike you...that is why there is this forum.

WOW, Somebody needs to chillax.
-
PS: I'm glad you like the Laptop!

Lee, take a deep breath and relax. While I'll admit that Zazonz' comment was a little ambiguous, I doubt it was meant as an attack on you. Perhaps you felt a little vulnerable that someone may not agree with your purchase, which you've spent a bundle on. I've been posting here for the last few weeks while looking for a new notebook, and in that time I've never seen the guy be anything less than helpful.
That aside, I'm pleased to hear you're enjoying the V6J, it's the model that's at the top of my shortlist at the moment... either that or the Asus A8Jm. I've read the review posted here, as well as the comments of other NBR members who have purchased the V6J and the general consensus is that it's an excellent machine. In fact the only recurring (try 2-3 people) complaint I've seen is regarding the headphone/line out socket lacking bass when using headphones... have you noticed this?
I'll be heading out this weekend to personally inspect the V6J, and will probably be looking into this myself. Since I plan on using it for music playback, dodgy audio would be a show-stopper for me.
Please feel free to let us know any other opinions or observations you've made regarding your new pride and joy... -
How about a mini review with pictures?

I say screw it and let us get the ruler out, let's settle this once and for all! <cough>

Any reasonable person would say that for the price the v6j is the ferrari of ALL 15" mobile latops. There are infact nopne better. Thats reasonable.

It's not an ultraportable, that's for sure, but is it ever thin and light! I went from a 6.5~lbs 15.4" to this one, and I gotta say, there was a huge difference in size and mobility! Perhaps it's just me, I'm not a big guy, but I find it very portable.

This is why I am still confused on what to buy - when spending so much all at once (and not being able to return if you dislike it....) It is scary I say!
From a specs and build standpoint I love the V6J - but when people mention bass issues, touchpad issues, mouse button issues, etc ... makes one wonder. I don't want to spend $1900 on something that "you have to get used to" -
I'm not too worried about potential touchpad issues, since I'll be using a mouse with it most of the time anyway... that potential sound issue is a concern though, since I listen to a lot of music. That's why I'm going to inspect (and test!) the V6J before I make a decision.
My position on the whole "touchpad buttons are hard to press" issue is that this is based on people who's V6 is only a day or two old. I imagine that once you've used it a few months, they'll either have been broken in or you'll have really muscular thumbs. -

I don't see any of that as being an issue. The sound ins't a problem for me at all, sounds better than other notebooks that I have used. If you learn to adjust/use the touchpad properly, than you have no trouble with it. The button are not a big deal, press in the right spot and you don't have any trouble at all. If you learn to use your computer (very very little learning) you will have no trouble at all.
