I love the Asus VX6 design so much. 1st sight love I might say . . . As for the performance of the internal hardware, no comments atm.
-
It looks awesome but the miror touchpad reminds me of the one's that HP offers, and using those = a horror. The red lights on the back also make it look more like a power ranger / gundam wing toy...
edit: or was that the vx7?
edit2: yep the one with the red lights was the vx7. Here's another link with pics of the VX6 http://netbooked.net/blog/12.1-asus-vx6-with-atom-d525-ion-2/ -
Go go VX7 . . . Go go Power Rangers!
-
Anyway don't expect miracles with this laptop, it will properly play games on Medium settings with no AA and around 30 Frames only on 720p i guess
-
What is that going to be 1 gig or 512 lol, well its good to go, it has a nice looking design.
-
Everything seems good about it except that it has dual core Atoms and Ion graphics. I won't put it out of the picture until some benchmarks are run, but I'm guessing with my limited knowledge that this isn't going to be anything for the M11x to worry about. Too bad, if they could have made this with similar performance to the M11x without breaking the bank, I would have been sold. But who knows, maybe it has a few tricks up its sleeves. However, if you don't need gaming or can deal with lowering the settings a bit, this seems like a nice choice. The VX7 on the other hand, looks like they went a wee bit overboard on the Lambo theme.
-
Looks nice. Don't want to go off topic but what in the world is that laptop on the left side of the picture?!? Glossy new g74 or g53?!? :O
Edit: Its the new Vx7
Anyway I wouldn't expect to game on something like this but have a good amount of power for anything else. Kind of wish it had a back-lit kb. -
ION 2 isn't much better than original ION, and dual-core atom is still no match for the SU4100/SU7300. It won't even hold a candle to the M11x. That being said, it is a nice looking laptop and definitely much better than a lot other netbooks out there. Much more capable at gaming than previous gens too, but still nowhere near M11x performance.
-
I agree, this laptop is nowhere near m11x performance. I would really like to see someone match and beat it. So far, nothing that can be called m11x rival.
-
Agreed.
Once the new m11x's with i core CPUs start coming out the gap will only grow bigger. -
meh. its a pos. its not even comparable to the m11x

Megacharge Custom User Title
As far as I know the ION 2 only doubles the stream processors from the first ION, up from 16 to 32. The GT335M in the M11x is superior with more than double the stream processors at 72 and higher clocks. This notebook is definitely not going up against the M11x. You might want to change the title of the thread so it doesn't look so foolish.

lol, how is anything with the words "Atom" and/or "Ion" supposed to compete with the M11x? Can it even compete with Asus' own UL30VT which came out almost a year ago??
-
if this vx6 has an expresscard slot then you can buy the vidock or the external video card adapter and plug in a 5870 or a gtx 480... it can now compete hehehe
but i really wish that the old vx3 would sport a gt 355m or a gts240 would be a dream come true... but for now i am sticking and loving my m11x... thanks alienware hehehe -
Also some of you may want to look back on the previous VX models. These were never offered as gaming machines but incredible looking machines that offered decent hardware. The gimmick on these is that Lambourghini helps Asus to design a notebook. Similar to in the past Acer had Ferrari consult with design. -
Edit: Acer also had BMW to design their aspire gemstone series (like my 5920g). Not that anyone would notice it, but then again I don't like a laptop to be too shiny coloured anyway. -
This is not part of the ROG line. Have they said it's a gaming system?
-
It's an excellent Farmville machine
-
As a netbook its probably not bad, but I can fathom it is going to cost WAY beyond what a netbook should. Atoms are anemic - no two ways about it. Even with Ion2 level graphics, you're going to be held back by the Atom, and they simply don't belong in a $400 notebook of ANY sort. Core i3/i5/i7 ULVs are a much better choice. Back when netbooks were $100 and $200 pricepoint targets, I can understand it but they're routinely in the $300-500 range now.
-
Ugh, that thing goes into the tacky range. Get rid of the red lights and the lamborghini logo. I know it's their thing to do this with some of their laptops, but I have never really appreciated it. I like the design overall (why wouldn't I- it's very close to the G73 in shape and overall feel) but a few things just kill it, and that's not even discussing the Ion specs.
-
-
Do you think this model will actually be released while the Lambourghini is still being made?
-
Here's a Vid of the VX6 at Computex.
-
keep dreaming asus fans like me....
vx6... pls put an i5 core and a 5650 gpu or an gt 330m would be a welcome salvo... -
IMO... this laptop is ruined by the little Eee logo in the top left. -
Has nothing to do with the market of the M11x.
Misleading thread title. -
-
Hey at least we get the G53.
