    Hello everyone!
I bought this computer on 21st December. So it's not even 1 month old, and it already shows 8 almost 9% wear level.
At first it did reach 4% then drop down to 1% but not for long it went back to 4% then 6% and today it went to 8% on Everest Ultimate and 8,98% on Batterycare software.
Today the battery wear increased after unexpected shutdown of computer, don't know why it happened on AC and full charge, but after booting up again the battery wear increased, and I just noticed my statistics for up and down times also messed up, I usually don't shutdown the pc just close it to sleep, had been running for 6 full days and now it shut'd down itself.
I know the battery wear is showing inaccurate.
Both software's are showing same information so I think its the ACPI problem.
Funny thing is that my battery charge more than it can hold according to wear level. Few days ago the Current capacity was almost up to designed.
    Designed Capacity 35952 mWh
    Fully Charged Capacity 32725 mWh
    Current Capacity 34595 mWh
My notebook is mostly on AC it has done like about 5 or 6 full discharge cycles only. I don't really know it this issue is reducing my actual battery life, but I don't like that raising wear level.
Anyone else have experienced same problem and maybe have found the solution?

My UX31A is similar, it shows 3% battery wear, then 5% battery wear, if I keep it plugged in maybe the day after it will show back to 3% and later 5% again... I use Hwmonitor and HWinfo to check, and I think it shut down one time completely like you described and it was on AC adapter with battery near 100% if not fully charged.

Have you followed any discharge guides recently? With those percentages, I'd say you may be looking at a RMA, as the battery's capacitors may be faulty.

Nop I haven't done recalibrating. I turned of my pc last night. And on this morning my wear level is 10.69% that's not normal...
What is RMA? I will google it up. Well checked my warranty/service card or RMA..
And well my retailer doesn't give service on battery. That's kind of sad. If this continues that rapidly I could be throwing this machine out after half year or year ? Does getting new battery, if that's even possible as its not that easy removable its under screws, could fix this problem, or the problem isn't battery?

Well, I wouldn't say yours is potentially bad capacitors. :) But I was wondering if either of you had done any calibration.

Sicis: If that percentage is reflected accurately even after calibration, then no: that is not a normal wear level that early on in using the laptop. RMA is an acronym that stands for Return Merchandise Authorization. Basically, it involves you getting a RMA number from the manufacturer (not the seller) so that you can ship (or hand deliver) the laptop to them for inspection and warranty service.

You can ask if they can cross ship a battery to you, although they probably won't go for that when it comes to a battery.

Well I did calibration. Did full charge, then non stop discharge till it hibernated, left it for 5 hours, then charged it, Then at night turned it off and turned on on morning. Wear level has decreased to 7,34% but still its inaccurate.
    Total capacity: 33313 mWh
    Current capacity: 35216 mWh
    Designed capacity: 35952 mWh
So actual wear level should be 2,04%
I think I should just ignore this, as my actual battery life isn't affected it lasted me 3 h 15m on the full discharge and I used it nonstop was watching hd movie, browsing(5 or more tabs), listening to youtube, streaming videos and a bit flash gaming.

It's your call. Asus has several service centers, so thankfully, if you DO decide (or need) to send it in, transit time shouldn't be so bad, as they will forward you to the nearest depot. I think 7% is too high still for a 2-3 week old computer.
