Ok guys, here's my story. I practically know NOTHING about computers but I do have a year old Dell Inspiron that I absolutely HATE and am looking for a new laptop. I've been frequently checking in on this forum for the past couple of months and the Asus line certainly interests me. OTHER than screen size, what does 'clear view' bring to the table??? Is it comparable to Sony's or Toshiba's bright screens? Is it brighter or is it[?] less bright?? Would the higher res of the W1 be more preferable than a lower res with clear view???? I know this all sounds elementary to some, but I realy don't know!!! ANY direction or help would be GREATLY appreciated....

The current W1 screen is a beautiful matte display...... it's getting replaced on the next model with a color shine (glare type) display...... which is great too.. better techically.. but it's a matter of what you like.

The W1's screen just basically got pushed over into the Z71v models... so they have a nice screen now....

The W3 is really small.... so it depends on what you're looking for.

    Thanks,
    Justin

Actually, 'color shine' is what I meant to say. I have no idea where I came up with 'clear view' LOL!!!!
Thanks Justin....I actually really like the W1 (screen size) and maybe I should just wait for that update....is color shine more or less like the bright screens on other makes? I looked at a Sony FS550 and really did like the brightness of the screen.......

I don't know about the W1, but my W3 is alot less brighter than the Sony FS display.
Basically because the extra brightness on the FS is due to it's dual-lamp. Glare coating, like W3's, just add more vibrance to colours, and they look a little more bright than on a normal TFT.
I don't know if W1 will use Dual-Lamp, but I really doubt it.
