    Hey guys,

first time poster long time reader! (haha)

I got an Asus W2W through salary sacrifice @ work and I have a few questions:
    1. Does it have the option to add a 2nd HDD? The 300gb 4200rpm is too slow!!! I want a 7200rpm Hitachi/Seagate for the OS and use the 300gb as storage.
    2. Is the HD2600 overclockable? If so, which tool? (ATITool etc)
    3. Is the T7700 overclockable? OR does the BIOS not support OCing?
    4. Would I be eligible for the accidental damage warranty even though I am in Australia?
    5. What are your thoughts and experience with this model?

    Cheers,

    Codest*r

    Welcome first time poster!

over clocking a notebook != over clocking a desktop. You really have the think about thermals.

and surly that T7700 is fast enough as it is....

as for HDD, sure buy another one if you so desire, I've got a 7K2 Hitachi, makes a difference. just make sure what kind or HDD you have, IDE or SATA

The W2 can only have one HD, so your bets bet is to get a 320gb 5400rpm HD, if you can find it, it's hard to find at the moment due to limited stock.

The accidental warranty is unfortunately North American only.

The W2 is a beauty of a machine, I'm very glad ASUS did not scrape it like their older premium models(W3, V6, M6, etc). It's small, thin and light for a 17" while packing a punch(though it's more of a business/media machine and not a gaming machine).

I recommend getting a large 5400 RPM or 7200 RPM drive, then buying an external enclosure for your current drive. You can have a faster drive, and still use your old one for storage.

Thanks guys, I am going to order a 7200RPM 2.5" SATA drive for it and use the 300gb as storage.

Bugger about the warranty - Would be good to have that haha :)

No need to OC I don't think - It certainly has alot of power. What about the HD 2600 then? I'll do some googling on that and see what I come up with - I will let you guys know!

Yes the W2W certainly is bloody sexy!!!

    Cheers,

    Cody
