Sorry if this has been asked did a serch no info. So will we see this notebook at all or is the V1 the direct replacement?
Thax in advance.

The new F8 is the W3 replacement, its been discussed here.
-
The W3 series has reached the end of the line. The V series is the closest to a replacement.

More specifically, the V2J -- or V2S when and if the Santa Rosa version will be released.

How does the X1450 on that stack up with the 8400 GS, GT, and the 8600?
-
The go8400G = roughly go7400 performance = roughly x1400 performance. The 8400G is better though.
But you would want the 8400GT as its roughly = go7600 performance. -

I think the ASUS W3 replacement will be the Dell XPS M1330.
EDIT: There is a thread about that floating around here some where. -
Bah, what the hell was the point of making the 8400 then? To save battery life someone said? Yet the battery life on the W7S and A8S is under 3 hours... ummm... something doesn't add up.
-
Only problem... that 1330 with decent specs will be close to $2000 I'll almost guarantee you. I'm not made of money!

Yep, it will probably be between $2,000-$2,500 well equipped. -
W3 is 14" and has the x1600 - the F8 is 14" and has the HD 2600
M1330 is 13" and will support a go8400GT as best due to heat and the HD 2600 is around 8600GT performance.
I dont see how you can say the M1330 is a W3 replacement in that respect.
Do mean the M1330 replaces the Asus W7 as thats the 13" with the go7400? -

Yep. I was thinking of the W7. -
Got any more info on that comparison?
-
Not really tbh - nothing substantial. Benchmarks here for the XT version but generally this is what the forum is saying (see the thread on the F8).
