Hi,
I have an Asus W3000 (W3) but the lcd has cracked so I can no longer see anything on the screen.
Does anyone know where I can purchase a new, good quality screen?
And is this an easy job to undertake for a novice?
Thanks!

This is relatively easy to do yourself.
You can look at estore.asus.com for the replacement part, or you can disassemble it yourself and find the equivalent part for cheaper on eBay.
Consult the Asus website for the appropriate disassembly manual. -
I'm not sure you can find the disassembly on the ASUS website. Maybe some users can help you with it, though, or some dealers. Or otherwise you can try calling support and getting the manual.
I wouldn't call it easy though. It can be tricky to remove the LCD, and in any case it requires patience and possibly some guesswork (not everything is written in the disassembly manual as it should be, from my experience).
I suggest try the estore first, they have quite good prices. -
ebay sells the W3J screen for about half the price of the estore...

It's the exact same screen for the W3V.
The disassembly is quite difficult, as you would be required to remove the keyboard and keyboard bezel to disconnect the LCD cable, as well since the design of the hinge bend right around on the W3 series, it might require you to disconnect the hinges from the top case entirely.
