I've got a W3J that I bought last summer and everything about it was fine until I bought Half Life 2: Episode 1 recently. It said that my display driver was outdated. Well, that's ok, because I could just go to ATI's website and download an update. Which I did. (I've got the Mobility™ Radeon® X1600) For some reason, Asus is not one of the 18 supported notebook manufacturers and system integrators. I looked into it further and found that I'm basically screwed. Is this true?

Try either the modded Omega Drivers or get drivers from ASUS's website.

I tried a modded driver, but because of my lack of computer skills, somehow screwed it up and now every time i right click it tries to configure the ATI Catalyst Control Center even though I reverted back to a system restore point before I ever messed with it.

I just found the drivers on Asus's website. It's version 8.2 and I've got like 8.1...not much of an upgrade, but hopefully will solve my problem. Thank you!

Jacob, you can try this link for the 7.7 version, if you're running XP. That's the no-hassle direct link to download ATI's latest driver (currently v. 7.7).

Before using it though, you should probably uninstall any video drivers or software for them currently on your PC so you don't run into compatibility issues.
