    Asus W3J+ at this Website?

    Says they have the W3J+ In stock here..

    some interesting things to note, say it has a 2 year global warrenty and comes with a wireless mouse and bag.. (sounds exactly like if you buy it directly in Taiwan)

    I called asking about the warrenty and it seemed legit..Almost ordered it..then remembered I was going to wait for Merom =P

    But if anyone doesn't want to wait..can probably get it from there~

    2 year warranty, wireless mouse and bag are what the old W3v's came with...... but prior to December of last year. Not to nit pick, but W3j+ also isn't a model number...... I know there are places that use it, but it's not a model number and I almost feel those who use it don't know what's going on... the current model number for the W3j would be: W3J-H026P. Don't expect Merom on the W3 till October.

    Sorry for using W3J+, I didn't feel like remembering the exact model number, and it is widely understood that the W3J+ is the 2ghz 1 stick of 1gb ram etc model of W3J anyways.

    And the Taiwan thing was found from the W3J Owners Lounge...

    This is one hell of a find Saros. Mwave is nice if you're in Socal because you can pick it up at the warehouse.

    Right, but every country has different models they bring in and no one will have a different configuration in the same country. Basically, the longer warranty, mouse and bag are not part of the US package this year and you can call Asus to verify that if you want, but if you don't get them, there isn't much you're going to be able to do because sites like that have it clearly marked in their legal section that they're not responsible for typos like that.

    Basically, just don't expect those things because it's a shot in the dark because they never came over that way and someone like that certainly isn't a value added reseller of any stretch.

    ... there's no such thing as lucking out when it comes to something like this with Asus, just because 99.9% of the time the people selling them don't even know what the hell they are or what they come with...

    Yeah I have seen some dubious specifications posted on some web sites, stuff like PCMCIA instead of PCI Express, thats quite a simple component, if they can screw that up..................

    mwave is a renown reseller and I think you should go for it. Don't let the sellers on here persuade you or intimidate you buy from others.

    mikez, thanks for you input - I have dealt with mwave in the past as have several people I know and they are a very reputable reseller. My comments were sarcastic, although they were indiscernible as they were meant to be. Proportable's prescence on these boards are a bit eerie, to say the least. I know many people who considered purchasing from Justin but decided against it because of how he handles himself on these boards. Yes, from time to time, he has some useful information, but the majority of the time ...

    Also, an update for anyone interested in purchasing a w3j from mwave, they are out of stock, but their website indicates otherwise.

    What the? I ll bet my months wage you wont find a single rep at mwave that knows more about these models then even the newbies around these parts. YOur nutzzzz! They may be a good reseller but thats where it stops they know not what they are selling.

    I'm sick of sellers like you that appearS on forums and try to persuade people not to buy from other vendors because they don't have knowledge regarding certain products. Well, well, I wonder why? Because they're a big company and sell many other things that you guys do not carry (You guys only what? Sell Asus??). If you suggest all the people not to buy from vendors that don't know anything about their products then I guess we all should stop buying from Newegg, zipzoomfly, ewiz, etc.. and buy it from you guys with a much higher price? Get real... Look at the Asus W5F price and specs on Ewiz and compare to Milestonepc, not only the specs on Ewiz is better but much cheaper...

    Actually I find that BTOTech, Milestone, and Proportable to have some notebooks way cheaper than than bigger resellers like Newegg and etc. The best thing of the smaller resellers is that they understand what the customer is going through, if you have a problem they will probably go out of their way to help you fix it before trying to contact ASUS or the main company. Bigger Reseller, really can't do much, they just say "Call ASUS." To them you are just another customer.

    I got to admit that I did make my purchase from Zipzoomfly just a few days back, becuase the suposedly had the W3J in stock, then I got an email a few days later saying it has been backrodered instead. :mad: I will have to wait till August 30th (ETA), or I will recieve an automatic refund, hopefully it will arrive by then (although a bit late since I start classes the 28, and 1 week of delivery :mad: ) might cancel, and preorder with the smaller reselles, but I get the impression that they got more backorders than the bigger companies, and would take even longer to get the ASUS W3J. :eek:

    You missed the point completely. I ve been here for years. This is what i do. We sell asus. The only thing that mwave or ewiz can have better is the price and not always. I didnt say dont buy from them. I just said dont expect much of anything after you bought it. What makes you think we have a higher price? We have higher service and attention to detail also more reputable in the business of service and the products we sell. iN the long run the lower price gets you higher. I see it everyday. You you want to buy your barebones from mwave or whoever be my guest, Just dont instant message me at 10pm or midnight or 1 in the am asking for advice becuase i wont help you and i wont reply on the forum. I ll tell you to get help from your vendor.

    That's pretty much my point. You guys trying to intimidate consumers if they not buying it from you then they wouldn't get help and the reason why you guys are on these forums is trying to make sales through most of your post by helping us and I clearly see that (I'm sure we all would do fine if you guys weren't here). If all vendors only sell couple of things like you guys then I'm sure they would find forums like these to make more sales. And when someone posted a thread regarding pricing and most of you get upset because you guys have higher price and your reason is that you guys have better service (just read about the Asus W7J for $1350 at ewiz then you know what I'm talking about)... Well, I guess your service isn't worth couple of hundred dollars to most consumers and this is just all IMO.

If you did your homework correctly you would know that between my self, justin and donald we are responsible for making this forum what it is today. If this forum didnt have resellers on it there would be no information on any products nor would there be any clear solutions to inherent hardware issues and there were plenty last year. You have no idea what you are saying to be quite honest. You went from one extreme claiming that mwave is awesome. I corrected you. Then you went to another extreme saying the forum would be better without resellers and that we are here only to spam the forum with advetising. Find a single post where i link back to us or have anything other to say aside from advice. No there are no reseller trolls here but they do pop uo from time to time. YOURE WRONG.

My intention was not saying you guys spam the forum but sometimes how you guys put it in a way that we consumers should only buy from you guys and if not, we'll not get any help whatsoever. I'm not going to try and go back to find whether you link back to your website or not but I'm sure you and other sellers know why you guys are here and it's obviously is to make sale and please tell me that I'm wrong...Again, if you guys think this forum will be nothing without you guys then be my guess. And I'm also guessing from what you're saying if forums doesn't have sellers then it's pretty dead and dry and I'm guess hardforum.com and anandtech.com is dead and dry too??     I live a couple blocks from Mwave. I hate their Will Call, it is run by a bunch of goons.

    I tried ordering a Asus notebook from them before. Their website lists the notebook in stock. When I arrived at Will Call the rep stated they did not have the notebook and had to order from Asus directly, which takes 2-3 days.

    Without resellers the forums are full of wrong information. This forum in terms of asus laptops is second to none, The reason is that the top minds of as resellers all reside here and nowhere else.

    My point was that the sellers are trying to intimidate consumers not to buy from other vendors just because they do not have no knowledge of their products. Like you said, it's a free world and I have my opinion. And your response was very mature :rolleyes:

    You consider that intimidation? If so then i have a **** right to intimidate people. Guess how many times a day i have to answer tho phone, an email or an instant massage from one of these people that needed "intimidation". Guess how many people will never buy an asus again because their dealer wont give them the time of day and asus own support falls into the same category as any other. If dealers did their job and supported the products they sell like we do then there would be no reason for me to reply "contact your vendor or post on the forums i am not support for the public" every day for as long as i can rememember. Truth hurts. The fact that people who buy from ewiz mwave or wherever crowd this forum and my phone lines my own forum and instant message me countless times a day thinking i would help them gives me a right to say buy from a reputable dealer. When it comes to asus products and support the above mentioned lack in both territories. Its that simple. I said nothing else but that. If you find it intimidating then meaybee you should not buy there

    In my opinion, dealers like you that go beyond the informational-type posts do more harm than good to your overall public image. I just don't understand the point - it's all very strange. It's difficult and frustrating to watch someone shoot themselves in the foot over and over again.

    Geared2play, I think just for the number of times you have offended users on this forum you deserve a ban. I think all users who feel these resellers should stop their intimidating practises should complain to the admins... i sure as hell would like to...
