Does the W3V touchpad have a touch-sensitive feature whereby you can tap the pad itself to perform the same functions as the mouse buttons do/would? So while scrolling, one tap directly on the square can close a window, or two fast taps on an icon can open a program etc...I've never owned a laptop before and I just realized while I was away in the States that the Sony models have this feature...I didn't know It even existed until then but found it quite efficient and useful...some of the other brands on display didn't seem to have it, so do any of the Asus models have this feature (W3V especially)?
Thanks in advance for your responses...man this place is buzzing these days, It's taken me hours to catch up on everything going on in here!!! I see It's also gotten pretty heated in some cases too, It's kinda comforting to see it happens when I'm not here as well.
Any Canadians notice that we might be getting the charcoal version of the W5a here instead of the white(ish) one? I'm going to try and confirm this locally tomorrow...anyone else know anything about this?

I'll ask around local shops... and I'll try to confirm too (here in Vancouver)
ASUS M6800Ne, P-M 1.5 Dothan, 512MB Ram, Toshiba Combo drive, Samsung Spinpoint M 40G HDD with 8M cache, Mobility Radeon 9700 -
This is usually just a settings issue as opposed to hardware or mfr.
Try looking around in your Control Panel & see if you can find anything regarding your touchpad mouse settings. -
Yes, you can tap on the touchpad to replicate clicks [1 tap = single click, 2 taps = double click]. It's a very old feature in laptops.

you can even scroll horizontally and vertically without having to use the side scroll bars ala creative's zen mp3 player.

yeah... thats a standard thing you can basically do on an synaptics pda........ and the scroll piece is very neat. I was wondering where I remember that from the creative zen...
Thanks,
