Greetings everyone,
Like many here, I have been following the Asus W3V preorder with great interest. However, one of the things I have yet to hear much about is the secondary battery (and battery life in general).
To W3V owners: what is the battery life with the 2400mAh primary battery? How does it compare with the 4800mAh battery?
To everyone else: any word on the status of the secondary bay battery? Justin, will this be available at the same time as the W3V itself? Any pricing information? Is it true that the 4800mAh primary battery comes standard with the US model?
Based on the W3N/A, what kind of battery life can we expect to see with the 4800mAh primary battery AND high capacity secondary battery?
Cheers,
Jaani.

Hi Jaani,
The secondary battery is available at Justin's website: Proportable.com underneath the preorder page of the W3V...
As far as battery life... I am not sure.

Let me make this one simple for you.
the 2400 will be 1/2 of the life of the 4800... but it's the same exact size..... and only ounces lighter...
The optical bay battery..... thats going to give about 3/4 of the life of the main battery.. becasue it's a 6 cell... 3600mAh I believe.
The smaller main battery won't be available in the US at all... not only because of the minimal difference in weight, but becasue the battery probably wouldn't be much cheaper than the double capacity battery.
All of the batteries are not coming in this week. It's one reason we took all of the optical bay batteries off of everyone's pre-orders. Asus doesn't even have an ETA now (as of two days ago they didn't have one for the W3 either).... but we cancelled peoples battery orders so we can close the pre-orders and then once the batteries arrive, let them re-order them then.
Thanks,
Justin
