I'm looking at getting an Asus W5A. Does anyone know what docking ports/replicators work with this notebook? And what ports it has? Or a link to an information page?

    Thanks in advance!! :)

No specific port replicator is made for the W5.

    As far as ports go:

    Left Side: 1 x 4 in 1 card reader; 1 x USB 2.0; 1 x firewire; 1 x ethernet; 1 x modem

    Rear: 1 x s-video out; 1 x ac adapter; 1 x kensington lock port; 1 x USB 2.0

    Right Side: 1 x USB 2.0; 1 x PCMCIA; 1 x VGA out; 1 x mic; 1 x headphones; Volume knob.

    blindrhino,

Not only there is no docking station or port replicator made for W5A but also I don't think Asus would ever produce one.

You can try Targus (was it Targus?? anyway one of those compnies) made USB port replicator.

If you don't mind me asking, why would you want to use it anyway?? Is it a serial port that you need?? Or an old dot matrix printer that you need to hook up??

No..... they won't.... because the W5 doesn't have a port like the M6/M3's do...... for the port bar 3....... if you don't have a proprietary port for it, the only thing you'd see is something over USB and you can't attached VGA and/or ac adapter through usb.....

Actually Targus has a port replicator (USB based) that has VGA. Mixed reviews though (on performance).

    Thanks again.

It's for my brother, when he is using the notebook at the office he would want it hooked up to an external mouse, keyboard, display, speakers and power, so it would just be more convenient, not really critical. I'll check out the Targus, thanks for the tip.
