Here is a video i shot with a sony hdr-hc3 for the w7j. Will have all the models done the same way but here is one for now. Its 660mb. Its not the full hdv quality. I shrunk it down to dv. Its in original uncompressed avi format. Have not quite mastered this video editing and rendering thing. If anyone wants to host a compressed version be my guest. It is not ready yet still uploading. Should be ready by 8pm eastern. Please please do not all start clicking on it. Save the link and download it off peak hours. www.sretup.com/geared2play/w7j/w7j.avi or here for the lower quality wmv www.sretup.com/geared2play/w7j/w7j.wmv
Ooh ye if anyone has a good player to decode this please post a link. For some reason my server can play it but no other laptop or pc can. Guess i need the codecs? If there is a problem with the video please let me know. It should be crystal clear without any lines, jaggies, or anomalies.

Hey Eddie, you should just post it on youtube as a backup to those links. Plus it'll garner more attention on youtube than on notebookforums. The downside is that the quality of the video isn't as good and you max out at 10 minutes. Solution? Post it in two clips on youtube. :)

Wow... the avi file is huge! I'm downloading it though right now. I started downloading it normally was going at around 100kbps. I opened up flashget now its going at over 500kbps :) And I usually use DivX to play avi files.

Yea, the avi is going to take me over an hour. I'm at 29% now. This better not be one of those 2 hour downloads for a 2 minute video

It's actually only 3:11! It really needs to be converted somehow! It should not be more than 50MB's at the quality that it's at. It's great quality but the file is huge!! After looking at the file, I'm really not sure why its so big! It's 29FPS and 720x480 resolution....

You should take a look at using a video codec to compress the video and make the files smaller. People definitely prefer fast downloads over high quality when it comes to sharing video online. Here are a few programs/codecs you could check out:

    Windows Media Encoder
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/forpros/encoder/default.mspx

    DivX Converter
    http://www.divx.com/divx/windows/

    Quicktime Pro (use h.264 codec)

    Ogg Theora

I downloaded this using Download Accerlator Plus at 11am, took around 25mins, my speed was 500+ kb/s.

The file is 660 megs, and runs for 3 mins and 11 seconds.

The Quality is amazing, no sound.

Yes this definately needs to be compressed, i download movies from youtube and google video too, and those files have music/sound and high quality and they are 10 times less in size.

I do suggest using Sony Vega 6.0 to do your editing.

Besides the that, the W7J looked great, decent horizontal viewing angles, nice verticle viewing angles. The picture quality of that 3dMark was exceptional!!!

Once again for those who didn't catch this before, the CTRL key is finally in the CORRECT position :D, its the far left, and the FN key is to the right ofthe CTRL key. :D

    Thanks for the Vid,

    MysticGolem

That's pretty neat, but is it just me or does the movie the W7J is playing seem kinda a choppy at times? And, doesn't the touchpad suppose to have a vertial scroll function?

Video is completely smooth and there is a vertical scroll and side scroll. Its all in the driver now. Any synaptics touchpad with the new driver will have the vertical and side scroll

Here is a link to a compressed mp4 (using nero recode ipod settings) version of the file. Its only 35Mb and still very good quality.

What game is that in the video?

Also, was the video distorted somehow? That didn't look widescreen.

It's not that bad, I'm getting 650++ kb/s using flashget. Just delete it after you watch it :).
