negative. Very very rarely will you see us advertise a pre-order. There really is no need for a pre order here especially if a small quantity already arrived.

If there is more demand among the resellers than there is supply within the US, do they allocate pro-rata? Or is it first come first served? THanks!

No, the camera cannot rotate. In an earlier thread, Justin at Proportable said this would've required a larger bezel on top (like the W5F).

Yea, that's what I figured. That photo on Ebay is off base then. Deceptive advertising...

Sorry still no update. After our sales rep and the old pm left it has been very hard to get ahold of anyone who has definitive answers. We ordered ours but have not been charged yet. Hoping to see this clear up by today. What a mess....

Sounds as though there is a big shake-up at Asus NA that is adding to these issues? What a drag, timing-wise! I hope it doesn't hinder the distribution of the W7j

well it's most likely upgradable to 2.5 when 2gb sticks are more available with a bios update. the one 512 is soldered in as it saves a lot of space.

Similar to 12" z33ae. it builds in 512MB, but only 1 memory slot available for micro sodimm DDR2. Normally, if the size of a model is very small, they will not have more than 1 memory slot for upgrading.

I think of all manufacturers, apple beat them all. With the new macbook, both slots are accessible and ALSO the HD can be changed easily and without voiding applecare warranty..

All i can say is WHOA for apple...The model just before it..iBook took me 1 hour to dissassemble and 45 screws later to get to the hardware...phew!

Yes! $1489 at newegg. What is cool is you can look at pics including what comes with the notebook. What I was glad to see is that newegg also put up a pic of the ac adapter and showed that you get a full copy of win Xp.

The macbook is a >5 lb monster with no expresscard or pc card expansion, no dedicated graphics card, incredible heat/discoloration problems, and goes for the same price as a w7j. Yes, GoldServe, apple beat them all.

Oh, and most notebooks have easily accessible HDD, memory slots. Apple just decided to join the party recently.

I'm talking about the terms of the warranty. I got my W7j and I think it is a steal. I was just commenting about their warranty policies and I think for apple, they've come a long way to allow customizing of the machine while offering warranty.
