I am Interested in Purchasing an Asus W90 because it has the best GPU power of any notebook. I am worried that the screen is not back lit as I haven't seen anything about that. Also I see no sites offering either the x9100 or the t9900 CPU's that are 3.06ghz stock dual cores and those are also a must for me.
Is the Asus W90 backlit and is there anyone offering it with the x9100 or the t9900 CPU?? Thanks for your time.

You might want to edit your post as all lcd laptop screens are backlit. You mean keyboard not screen.
Its a quad laptop looking for an expensive downgrade? Unless your running single threaded apps or apps that dont make use of more than 2 threads the performance is all around better. There are exceptions.
GenTech offers the T9800 - http://1toppc.com/Merchant2/merchan...e=W90Vp-A1&Category_Code=AS17&Product_Count=3
The T9900 last i checked isnt mainstream avaliable? It might be avaliable to OEM's but if a reseller cant get it via regular means its a hard upgrade todo. -
i did mean keyboard. This site is running so slow it took me a long time to edit it. I think with games isn't a higher clock speed dual core going to perform better than a much lower clock speed quad core for example starcraft 2 or diablo 3.
Anyways the t9900 is supposed to be mainstream released may 31st so I guess i jumped the gun on that. Why is the x9100 not available anywhere on this laptop but the t9800 is? And is the keyboard backlit? -

i'm also intrested on this information. i don't really care about the flashy lights. i just want a color i can see in the dark and i can turn off during the day.

Backlit keyboards are making it's way to all Asus gaming notebooks. So far, the W90Vp/Vn/V varients don't have it, but there may be in the future refresh models.
As for the X9100/T9900 CPU upgrades, I don't think any resellers are currently offering these options. You could contact the resellers and ask if they could offer you a special CPU order, but I'm sure it'll be quite costly.
Alternatively, you could easily purpose either one of the CPUs from ebay and install it yourself with relative ease, but this would void your manufacture warranty. In most cases, if your replaced CPU wasn't the primary cause of a faulty system, Asus would still repair your notebook even if the warranty seal is broken. -
Well this laptop was almost perfect but without a backlit keyboard it's a deal breaker for me. Why on earth would they make such a powerful notebook and skip out on a backlit keyboard. Whoever's idea that was at Asus should be fired.

Because we can type/play in the dark? becuase we don't have to look at the keyboard? ..... yes I would like it come with a backlit keyboard, but if it come with backlit keyboard but bad specs . I rather the dual GPU without the back lit.
Asus W90 backlit keyboard?? x9100 or t9900?? Availibility
