With a price difference of about $300 more for the A1 I need to know wich is best for gaming. I know that with that $300 you get an extra Hard Drive and BlueRay but that doesn't matter to me at the moment. I need the fastest one for gaming.

In this thread i'd like it if someone could post benchmarks of an Asus W90Vp-A1 (3DMark '06 and Vantage and maybe even some Crysis or Farcry2) and someone else bechmarks of the Asus W90Vp-X1. This seems to be the only way to find out wich is best.

    Remember the A1 has a Core 2 Quad Q9000 (2GHz) with 6MB Cache and the X1 has a Core 2 Duo T9600 (2.8GHz) also woth 6MB Cache.

I think many will find this helpful!

    Thanx!

Please refer back to THIS post and the W90 owners lounge as Mr.Moo suggested.

The X1 benchmarks are posted in the owners lounge and since the A1 has not yet been released, there are no benchmarks for it yet. A few resellers have testing units in hand, so stay tuned for more info also in the owner's lounge.

The processor in the 9600 is going to yield better results in gaming (and performance overall).

Objection, no way is it going to yield overall better performance, quads can multitask much better.

results in gaming? Its going to vary there is no yes/no answer.

exactly , right now not many games support quads so the t9600 will win MOST of the time but not always. The quad will endcode decode and do video stuff much better

Only in processor intensive games like GTA IV.

But not by much though. Then again in quad core supported games... and the debate continues.

Well Viscous is now running benchies for the Q9000 so hopefully someone can post side by side comparisons of both for games, I attempted to compile the numbers from the Owners lounge, but my net connection here is woefully slow and it takes at least 5m to load one page of posts without photos, most with photos won't even load.
