    I have G2S-A1

and I sent for repair 2wks ago

ASUS doesn't have motherboard in stock so
they have to order NEW board from Taiwan

and ASUS customer rep said it won't extend my warranty
even though I'm getting new board

    is it true?

Why would replacing a new motherboard extend your warranty?

David is quite correct, as he often is.... all warranty language in existence for any consumer product runs from the purchase date for a limited timeframe of X months or years. Coverage never resets or restarts if something gets fixed along the way ;).

Just to add that when it goes to repair the timeframe freezes and is later resumed when the laptop arrives at the consumer door (or when you're picking it up), at least this has been my experience with some other products warranties.

Well I called today to check my RMA status and they said that they were suppose to get a shipment of Mainboards in this week but it never came.

The lady said right now the turn around time for anything Mainboard related is 4 weeks. They will have had mine for 2 weeks this coming tuesday, so that kinda makes me sad.

Mine's going on 3 weeks. I was supposed to get a call yesterday about getting a replacement laptop... never happened.

I am losing more and more faith in Asus' customer support...

Well I called on Wednesday seeing what the deal was yet again and actually got a CSR that had a clue. She did a little investigating and noticed that I wasn't even on the list of people to get a replacement Motherboard and said according to the date they received my laptop I should be at the very top.

She told me she would send an email to the appropriate people to see what was going on and get back to me. Well 2 days later I get an email saying that my laptop has been repaired and has been shipped. Almost a month of waiting for something that should have taken only a couple days. Boo to Asus service, but thumbs up to the nice lady that got things straightened out.
