I just get my new laptop Asus G1s-A1 3 days ago. I removed Vista and install XP, no problem with that, just that graphic/display driver is not installed(NVidia Geforce 8600m GT) I found a few drivers out there from Intel, Asus and NVidea, all the time I run NVidea installation I get error like "NVideo setup could not locate any drivers compatibles with your hardware".. the graphic card was working perfectly in Vista, so it is there !!!
Also I install the Intel graphic Acelerator Driver... but I still have not video card installed in my systems, graphics are very slow, no game can played..etc
Also, I have a device called "Base system device" unknow in the system... I tried with different "driver find asistants" but nothing...
any help ?????

My advice is to reinstall Vista. On looking over Asus' site, there are no XP drivers available for the G1S, which means you are going to have difficulty getting anything working right. You may also want to call Asus' support line to see if they are planning to release any Windows XP drivers. They can be reached at (888) 678-3688 Option 3.
If you absolutely must have XP, try installing a laptopvideo2go.com driver. I've given instructions below for downloading, modifying, and installing the latest driver.
Download the following file to your desktop:
http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/nvidia/165series/16501.exe
Run this file to create a 16501 folder on your desktop.
Save the following file INSIDE the 16501 folder (this will overwrite the file already there):
http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/infs/165series/16501/nv4_disp.inf
Open the 16501 folder and run the Setup.exe file.
Be advised that, although this should get your video card working, your computer will not run properly unless all drivers are installed, so you will still want to contact Asus to see if there are any plans to release a Windows XP driver set. -
Do not go back to vista! You're much better off with xp. Like thain said, you can get new drivers for your card at www.laptopvideo2go.com

@Thraken:
I've noticed that the laptopvideo2go.com drivers tend to be more compatible with Clevo notebooks than they are with any other model, although they do seem to be improving lately. If laptopvideo2go INF isn't compatible with his card, though, he's going to need to go back to Vista if he wants to use his graphics card's abilities at all. -

My last post should at least help get you gaming.
As for Base System Device; it is not responsible for your video driver failure.
Good luck!
