Taken right from the home page of: http://usa.asus.com/

"The Foremost in Digital Fashion. Order Direct Here!
To support the launch of Windows Vista, ASUS is offering an exciting range of Vista-based notebooks that set the standard for digital fashion. Jan. 30 to Feb. 28 only - quantities are limited."

The thing is... there is absolutely no link to click.

I'm curious though because in the Flash animation it shows the W5Fe! I want to see what prices these notebooks are running at.

Any resellers know anything about this?

Update (6:14 PM CST): Still nothing to "click", but a URL nonetheless:

Yeah, nevertheless if the link says 'Order Direct Here!' anyone (understandably) expects a link under the phrase (or at least under the word "Here" (or at least under the exclamation mark)) :)

Yeah, it's complete bs.... First, Asus doesn't have any of those models yet and won't for a while. Also, if you notice, that's not the Vx1, but the Vx2... and Asus US got all up in arms over my preview of the model because it would hurt their effort to get rid of the current Vx1's.......

The S6's still have plenty of stock and vista models aren't even set up with an ETA yet...

The W5fe w/ sideshow screen isn't made yet...

The Vx2 hasn't gone into production, even for European orders - which will be the model shown on the site with the nVidia 7700.....

The A8j's won't be in for a couple weeks.... the G1p's are sold out and more won't be in for another couple weeks as well. basically the only thing on that page that's physically available is the G2p...

Taiwan set this up and I don't think the US office has a clue as to what's going on... This page has been up on the vista site since about January 20th.

Now the links are actually of the "hyper" variety.

I've never seen Asus sell direct... that is something I could get used to.

$2199 for the W5Fe, ETA early February?

Is this coming out of nowhere? I must say, it is a pleasant surprise.

when you go to: http://usa.asus.com/event/Microsoft/A8.html it show that the a8js will have a 1.3mp camera but then when you click on the specifications it shows only .3mp :(

Another thing worth noting is that the vx2 only has the GeForceGo 7700 for now

Did anyone notice the Core 2 duo LV (L7200) on the S6F? Sounds tempting...

I'm not sure how many more times I can stress this, but those models simply aren't available and Asus US doesn't have a clue as to what is going on. They're all "ideal" models to help push Vista, but at of right now, outside of the A8js update which is still a couple weeks away from coming in, and the G1p update which is in super tight supply, the other three models haven't even been produced yet, let alone imported or even ready for sale.

.... don't get too excited too quickly here.... They'll all "be available", but it's not happening anytime in the very near future - like anytime during the month of February....
