    Hi everyone...

I recently bought this ASUS X50SL notebook with these scpec:
    Intel Core 2 Duo T5550
    ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470
    2 GB Memory
    250 GB HDD
    6 cell battery
    No OS
    and other standard components...

I wanted to install WinXP but I don't have driver support for XP. I tried to find information on support asus website but there is no drivers for XP. Is there an alternative? Can U please tell me where to find the drivers for WindowsXP?

Do you know the "standard name" for your notebook? I mean, usually the X-s are based on F models with some hardware changed to reduce the cost, I think. So I'm asking if you know the F model corresponding to your X.

If you do, then check the Info Booth (link in sig) > XP Downgrade Guides. There are some guides for F models.

Otherwise, you can try using the Vista drivers off the CD in XP, as well. Many of them will probably work, if it's anything like the more standard ASUS models. For GPU, use the Mobility Modder (see ASUS Info Booth > ASUS_FAQ > Modded Drivers), and for the rest... you need to scavenge.

    The model is Asus X50SL-AP098

And I realy need the WinXP.

P.S. On some forums I found that I have to make INF update... that is the thing I realy can't understand.

You might have to search by your hardware components.

Yeah, that's partly what I meant by scavenging. You might need to identify what hardware you have for the things that don't work off the drivers CD, and then either:

    a) get the drivers from the manufacturer of that particular part, if available
    b) look for another older ASUS laptop with the same hardware (but that's difficult for you to tell) and get the XP drivers from support.asus.com for that older laptop

So the X50S is the F7S? Perhaps I should write this down somewhere :) Is there some place where one can see all these correspondences, without actually doing a brute-force search through the specs?

But then the parts about downloading XP drivers from support.asus.com won't work for the OP, right?

    Hi Everyone!
I have an X50SL notebook, and I have a problem with it: the bluetooth doesn't work at all. I tried with Vista and XP too, but nothing. when I try to install bluetooth device I get an error message: "please plug in the bluetooth device". Is there a bluetooth device in this Notebook at all? Or the bluetooth led on the machine is just a joke?
    Peace!
