    Hi all!

A friend of mine spelt some herbal tea on her X550V. She brought it to me. I disassembled it, cleaned all the parts and let them dry for a few days.

Now, the problem is, notebook won't boot up when the AC adapter is plugged in. It does work with only the battery though. If I connect the AC adapter when the notebook is running, the battery starts charging.

Also, when I tried to boot up with AC adapter plugged in, only the green power, orange/green battery and green numlock lights are on.

To turn it on I have to remove the AC adapter, the battery and put the battery back in.

Any ideas what I can do or is the mobo replacement the only solution?

    Regards, VidKo

    Motherboard's fried due to short-circuit.
Whether the computer is under warranty or not, you can always get it serviced by ASUS by calling them, but they will charge her for the service for the user-induced damage.

Yeah the circuit is damaged. Not much you can do for liquid damage once it has set in. If she has an accidental warranty, they may take care of it for her, but otherwise it will be serviced as "out of warranty service."
