Heya guys, there's a deal going on here for a Asus X5D1N for £450.

    here

It seems like a steal though i was burnt (pun intended) by my last Asus which ran way too hot and way too loud after only a year before finally giving up the ghost.

I realise these things come with a good warranty but i just dont want the hassle. I want something with good build quality thats gonna last a while sooooo has anyone had any experience with this model? Im a student so i really need it to run quietly, cool and have a half-decent battery life of about 2.5 hours plus and a quiet, responsive keyboard for long essays.

    Thanks! :)

The Asus X series may not meet your expectations on build quality. It's more of a budget consumer model. In addition, Asus support in the UK has traditionally been underwhelming. I would advise going for a Lenovo thinkpad, Dell Latitude/Precision or HP Elitebooks if your main concern is build quality.
