I've been looking for the perfect laptop for me (my first) for about a year now, and after thinking about what can and can not be upgraded I've decided to go for one with a core i7 and a somewhat decent graphics card. I found the ASUS X62J.
There is a problem though; the only reviews I can find of this puppy are in french or german, the local asus site (asus.no) is down, and I can't find the model on the international site! So I'm left wondering if I'll have great trouble with finding drivers or getting support.. Not to mention the anxiety whether this is a good choice or not.
So, notebook gurus of notebookreview, have you heard about this notebook at all before? Are some Asus notebooks limited to sell in certain countries, and does that make drivers hard to find?
Here's the product page through google translate:

If anyone has experience with this notebook, please tell me a bit about heat, battery life, monitor view angles and whatever else you can think of that's worth knowing to a prospective owner.![]()

You gotta love asus, there laptops just pop up randomly. This seems to be in the same class as the X77 that was recently shown.

So this happens a lot, asus making obscure models without mentioning them on their site? If anyone here owns such a model it would be nice to hear from you, if it's hard to get support/drivers etc.

Yeah, it happens a lot. Half the models never show up on the ASUS "products" page, which is incredibly stupid marketing if you think about it, and you're usually better off seeking info elsewhere. On the other hand their technical support site is as far as I know very complete and inclusive and once you know how to navigate its quirks you can find what you need (drivers and ASUS software) fairly easily.

I believe that is the international version of the M60j:

if you look at the images, they are very very similar, similar specs as well.
