Hi all, i received my Asus X750LB few days ago: i7 4500u, 8GB ram, 1TB hdd, GT740M and 17.3'' FHD matte display.
Upon installation of Windows7 64bit, i noticed a random crackling sound from speakers while playing in windows media player - or youtube. It happens only on battery. I tried to uninstall realtek audio drivers, updating, but nothing helps. The crackling sound is similar as when forwarding the song (jumping forward). Happens only while on battery.

Other thing is the display. Upon installation of windows, i had 2 BSOD's with monitor.sys error. Somehow that went away with downgrading nvidia drivers. The screen itself is decent, matte, but with significant vertical lines which can be seen when close up to screen. The text on 1920x1080 resoultion also tends to have some slightly blurred letters. DIsplay specs are 17.3 inch 16:9, 1920x1080 pixel, AU Optronics B173HW02 V1 (AUO219D), TN LCD, Full HD, glossy: no.

Anyone with similar problems with sound and slightly visible vertical lines? is this for RMA or not?

The lines you mentioned have been seen on several G750 systems, but I believe they were horizontal. You might want to use a debugging tool to see if there's any additional info on those two BSODs (or upload the minidump files for others to download and analyze).

Given that the blue screens were abated with a different NVidia driver and you had those blue screens that were display related, you might have a faulty 740M, or the iGPU is the culprit.

I have used microsoft dbk and here is the result:
    BugCheck 50, {fffffa810b87ceb8, 0, fffff88006fe892b, 5}

c0000005 Exception in ext.Analyze debugger extension.

Invalid system memory was referenced. This cannot be protected by try-except,
it must be protected by a Probe. Typically the address is just plain bad or it
    is pointing at freed memory.
    Arguments:
    Arg1: fffffa810b87ceb8, memory referenced.
    Arg2: 0000000000000000, value 0 = read operation, 1 = write operation.
Arg3: fffff88006fe892b, If non-zero, the instruction address which referenced the bad memory
    address.
    Arg4: 0000000000000005, (reserved)

    Debugging Details:
    ------------------

c0000005 Exception in ext.analyze debugger extension.
    PC: 00000000`00000000 VA: 00000000`00000000 R/W: 8 Parameter: 00000000`00000000

Im suspecting a memory test is required? :)
Thare are also a few errors and warnings in event viewer:
Warning: The speed of processor 0 in group 0 is being limited by system firmware. The processor has been in this reduced performance state for 71 seconds since the last report.

Done memory check, and there are no errors. The problem with sound crackling remains - it crackles only on battery power.
Also there is a constant warning: The speed of processor 0 in group 0 is being limited by system firmware. The processor has been in this reduced performance state for 71 seconds since the last report. (37) remains.
